Handling pupil and parent personal data at independent schools
Education and childcare consistently feature as the sector with the second largest number of reported data security incidents. It is a key area of enforcement action for the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who also receive a large volume of complaints about how the education sector process subject access requests (SARs).
This module provides
- a summary of key data protection law compliance requirements for schools.
- practical tips on handling subject access requests.
Participants will engage with a case study to learn how to handle situations which arise and share knowledge about the compliance issues raised.
