Session One
Horizon Scanner: Data Protection Law in Independent Schools
Over the past year, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) updated guidance in several areas impacting on independent schools. This module:
- provides an overview of updates, such as ICO guidance on video surveillance, handling Covid and vaccination status information, and the new statutory Code of Practice on data sharing.
- discusses ICO enforcement actions in 2021 to identify key areas where independent schools might focus on improving compliance.
- discusses changes anticipated in the year ahead and how best to prepare.
